The study club

The study club

An online study room for reading, writing, research, and quiet work, for people who keep saying “I’ll start in five minutes.”

We say hi, name what we are working on, settle into silence, take a short break, and come back to finish.

This is for the days when starting alone feels harder than the work itself. Come with one clear task, stay for the room, and leave with a little more done than before.

Joining the room

How it works

Easy and low-pressure. I just like to know who is coming in, so the room stays calm and useful.

01

Pick a time

Choose a study slot that fits your schedule.

02

Share a little context

Tell me what you are working on and how often you would like to join.

03

I check the vibe

I read each note first, mostly to keep the room calm, focused, and comfortable for everyone.

04

Get the link

If there is space, I will send the session link and details by email.

Friendly, but not lawless

House rules

You do not need to be perfect. You do need to be respectful, on time, and ready to work.

Fine, I’ll study

Save a spot

Pick one of the Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday slots, answer a few small questions, and I will review the request before sharing the private room link.

If you are approved for regular access, you can keep joining without having to ask each time.

This month

Through July 31 · Netherlands time, with your local time below

After you request a slot, I will check the note first. If it fits, you will get the private room link. Regulars only need approval once.

About the host

Hi, I’m Resat

a PhD student who struggles to read for long hours, but still somehow dreamed of getting a PhD.

Very brave. Very questionable. Very much a panic situation.

So I created this space to help myself stay in the chair and actually finish my work. Because I am powered by mild academic peer pressure. When someone else is quietly working in front of me, my brain suddenly remembers that we have goals, deadlines, and a reputation to protect.

This room is for people like me: people who want to read, write, think, research, edit, and make progress, but sometimes need a little structure, quiet company, and the gentle threat of being seen doing absolutely nothing.
